This was the subject of my bachelor end project for Electrical Engineering at the University of Technology Eindhoven. I wrote an IEEE conference style paper in which I delve deeper into designing a custom UWB architecture suitable for data transmission in ultrasound imaging.
It was a pretty steep mountain to climb and I would spend a lot of my free time working on this project. In the end, I managed to create an UWB link without any bit errors of around 867 kb/s.
If I had more time, I would have tried to increase the bit rate towards 20 Mb/s, as to get the most out of the utilized transceiver.
